Rangemaster Professional Retires range cooker

26/05/2020

As from 30 JUNE Rangemaster's long-standing stainless steel models, the Professional 90 and 110, will no longer be available. Appealing to the more serious-minded cook, the Professional has always done well for Rangemaster, but in recent times has been out-sold by its sister product, the Toledo, with its friendlier, more domesticated look. In response to this, Rangemaster recently introduced the Professional Plus, which also features a multifunction main oven, revised 6-burner hotplate and a glide-out grill. A fine product, but the move does mark the demise of non-windowed and, as far as we know, all-LPG stainless models, which will further frustrate customers with no mains gas supply whose choice is now limited to the more traditional-looking Classic 90 and 110. What we think: We will definitely mourn the passing of the original Professional, as the chromier Plus model does not have the same serious, handsome profile of its predescessor, and would perhaps be a better replacement for the Toledo, in our opinion, alongside some tweaks and specification-updates to the original. Rangemaster seem to have done their homework, though, and the more sophisticated Professional Plus is certainly proving very popular.
