CEREC ( Ceramic Reconstruction)

03/06/2020

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CERamic REConstruction. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth. CEREC is a unique computer supported process for all-ceramic inlays, onlays, partial crowns, veneers and crowns for anterior and posterior teeth in one single appointment. This means fewer injections, less drilling, and less time out for you. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function so you come quickly and safely to the desired results: aesthetic restorations. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque resistant. Dentists no longer need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second visit has been eliminated. What is the CEREC treatment procedure ? The dentist prepares the tooth by precisely removing the area with caries or damage. The CEREC camera then takes a 3 dimensional image of your tooth and transfers the data to a computer The dentist designs the filling or crown to be milled out of a ceramic block. The milled restoration is bonded directly to your tooth. The advantages 1. Time saving. The CEREC restoration is designed, milled and placed in only one treatment session. The whole process takes about one hour. 2. Durability. CEREC restorations have a long lifespan - at least equivalent to gold. This has been proven in long-terms studies. 3. Aesthetic. All-ceramic CEREC restorations optimally match natural tooth color and form.
