Bay Sea School is the only RYA Training Centre on the North West coast teaching adult beginners to sail in a keelboat. As well as introducing beginners to sailing, John and Deirdre also teach most of the RYA theory courses whether the Specialist Short Courses such as VHF radio, Diesel Engine, First Aid & Radar or the longer Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore or Yachtmaster Ocean courses. They also offer online courses such as the Professional Practices & Responsibilties course and the Essential Navigation & Seamanship course. John also teaches all the courses on the RYA Cruising Scheme and is also an RYA Yachtmaster examiner. In 2011 he was presented with the RYA Scotland Instructor of the Year Award.
