What makes the George and Dragon in Clifton special is that the fresh, seasonal ingredients on the menu come from the Lowther Estate in Cumbria, right on it's doorstep. A hand drawn map on the back of the menu pinpoints the exact provenance.This 18th century coaching inn has been lovingly restored and redecorated into what is now a beautiful country estate pub and restaurant. It has open log fires, comfy sofas, bare wooden tables and a relaxed and friendly atmoshpere. Outside is a beautiful stone walled courtyard. It also serves local ales. Accommodation (ten en suite bedrooms) will be available to let from November 2008.
