Tess is an artist who specialises in Religious and Spiritual calligraphy. She illustrates words of inspiration, verses or quotations. These come from a wide variety of sources such as poetry, scriptures and speeches - or any words that simply hold special meaning for people.She creates individual pieces, working on heavily textured watercolour paper and employing techniques such as embossing, gold leaf and illumination in her work. Her work is often reminiscent of illuminated manuscripts, inspired by Celtic and medieval art, although she has a diversity which produces some very contemporary pieces which are equally beautiful.
