Sand is a new independent shop in Wadebridge. Sand sells Fair Trade, Ethical and Environmentally conscious clothing, jewellery and accessories. LET'S face it; money matters, and it often gets put before people and the environment. As consumers the purchases we make have a direct influence over where and how our products are made. The result is that what we buy directly affects the well-being of people and places. A growing number of us are conscientious consumers who are concerned about these issues and shop accordingly.At Sand we believe inusing this power of the consumer to instigate positive changes that bring about social justice, equality and safeguard the environment. That's why we source our stock through the following channels: Fairtrade seeks greater equity in international trade. Our fashion clothing and jewellery ranges are fairtrade. We also use companies with strong ethical and environmental policies that are in touch with their markets (eg surf, outdoors and foot wear). We use local companies where possible who share our goals.Shopping at Sand is not therefore about throw away fashion. It's about high quality goods, produced sustainably and to be valued and cherished by the wearer. We stock amongst others: People Tree, Finisterre, Celtic Sheepskin, Quail and Nomads. We use clear labelling and information throughout the shop so that customers know exactly what they are buying.
