ScotMARK was initially funded by a Strategic Research Development Grant from the Scottish Funding Council , and is based at , which has continuously provided logistical support since its inception in March 2005 The main objective of setting up ScotMARK was to undertake a feasibility study for an institutional structure to promote excellence in, and facilitate wider access to, research in architecture in Scotland, thus creating the basis for collaborative pooling of research capacity in key identified policy areas In March/April 2008 Edinburgh College of Art will discuss continued support to ScotMARK, likely to focus on continued access to competitively funded research dissemination, Knowledge Transfer and research skills development activities
