The National Gardens Scheme (NGS), publishers of The Yellow Book, the annual listing of over 3,700 mostly private gardens which open for charity.Founded in 1927 the NGS raises money for caring and nursing charities such as Macmilllan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Help the Hospices and Crossraods Care. As a result of fundraising activity in 2010 the NGS has donated more than £2.6m to the charities that it supports.
