We use the week to highlight to children and their parents and carers across the whole setting a particular safety or health issue, and to get across some key messages that we hope will be helpful and provide food for thought We aim to do this by providing a wide variety of free groups, courses, training sessions and events to help and support parents with the hardest job in the world, that of raising children We also try to make Child Safety and Health Week fun for the children as well as getting across the serious and important messages and this has been made much easier for us using a play resource especially designed and loaned to us by Avon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service These include antenatal classes, baby groups, Stay and Play, Story Time, parenting courses and a range of other specific courses or groups to meet the needs of the broadest possible spectrum of children and families within our diverse community Although our site backs on to the grounds of St Werburgh's Primary School, and we have close links with the school, we are a separate setting with different Headteachers and an entirely different staff team
