IMECS is a way of rewarding excellence in medical teaching Between 1999 (when the IMEC Scheme was first published) to now, IMECS has evolved into two products with the underlying scheme being the same, only differing in the implementation of certain features specific to PostGraduation and Undergraduation schools This product is an extension to the basic IMECS software to accommodate the specific requirements of Postgraduate Medical Education for the purpose of implementing the MMC initiative as stipulated by the Department of Health Till the MMC Initiative started gaining momentum, IMECS was one single product catering to both UG and PG medical schools
