The company was started in 1945 by pharmacist Richard Gillis formulating, manufacturing and selling from his pharmacy in Newquay, a popular surfing resort.The company is still based in Newquay but now run by pharmacist Robin Kaye from the pharmacy at East Street in Newquay.
