The Animal Aspirator is a unique hand-operated unit which clears fatal fluids from the airways of newly born lambs, enabling them to take their first breath, improving lamb survival with the potential of giving flockmasters better financial returns. The Aspirator was tested in 2005 at Windmill Farm with a flock of Texel sheep where care is taken with regard to disease transfer from animals to humans such as Toxoplasmosis. The Aspirator is equally useful for calves that are suffering from blocked airways after calving.
