Broken power sockets (or power jacks) are quite a common problem with most brands of laptop. A broken jack can prevent the laptop or netbook from charging, thus rendering the system useless once the battery has been discharged. Most service centres and even the big computer chains will tell you the motherboard must be replaced to get your laptop or netbook working again but we can replace most types of power socket without having to resort to expensive options like replacing the entire motherboard.
