I am a friendly and experienced music teacher based in North Edinburgh. I teach the Flute, Saxophone and Keyboard up to Grade 8 and also teacher Clarinet and Recorder for beginners. I have an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland certificate and Public Liability insurance is provided through my membership of the Musician's Union. I have a 2.1 BA Hons degree in Music from the University of Liverpool specialising in the Flute and have recently completed the ABRSM Certificate of Teaching Course.I use a holistic approach and encourage my pupils to become well-rounded musicians by integrating work on listening, reading, writing, and improvisation into lessons and am always pleased to when pupils provide their own goals and focus for lessons. I am happy to prepare pupils for music examinations although I do not insist on these. For most pupils a half hour lesson every week is plenty, however longer lessons are available for advanced pupils.
