ABESU is a small charity but one that is making a big impact and improvement to people's lives in the Chongwe area of Zambia through housing as a means to empowerment, as a recent monitoring and evaluation exercise revealed The housing has acted as a catalyst for the women and ABESU to also deliver a local clinic serving 2,600 families, sink boreholes providing clean water, construct VIP toilets, and a school in the area Currently 210 adults and 230 children are benefiting from ABESU homes, most of which are led by women only heads of household and many of whom are living with HIV
