Best Breakast in Herefordshire 2006/2007
Lower Buckton Country House has long prided itself on providing a sumptuous breakfast from simple ingredients all which have been either home-produced or locally sought, bought or caught. Free-range, rare-breed Berkshire pigs are kept grazing in the old farm yard and the the extremely productive kitchen garden provides fruit and vegetables all year round. The village of Leintwardine, a mile and half down the lane has a long-establishedtraditional family butcher with own slaughter house at the rear of the premises, a daily delivery of the best bread from a master baker and the village shop stocks all the local dairy and cheese items from local artisan cheesemakers and creamery. Carolyn says that, ".......without the superb infrastructure of the area's local food producers I would not be able to create such fabulous menus. I'm so pleased to be a part of the dynamic chainby bringing the food from plot to plate and to be supporting my local community".
