Business profile

Frank Hargreaves, the inspiration behind the Golf Club, was the farmer who worked these fields with his livestock for years before tragedy struck and his herd destroyed. His wife Lilian started the bed and breakfast business from the farmhouse and together they developed Mytton Fold Hotel from the derelict farm buildings. The hotel grew year by year, earning a renowned reputation for offering great hospitality. ΓÇï The fields lay redundant around the hotel and as Frank had taken up golf for moments of recreation he turned his thoughts to the development of the land as a Golf Club. Having walked the fields for years he knew where to put the water hazards, the best ground and locations for trees and foliage and how to follow the water courses to create the ponds. The fast maturing course has many interesting features. ΓÇï Mytton Fold Golf Club was opened in 1994 by Kenny Dalglish of Liverpool, Blackburn and Scotland fame and since that time has always enjoyed a thriving and competitive membership which takes its golf seriously and enjoys a very active social programme too. ΓÇï The Club invests to ensure that the quality of the course is sustained and improved year on year, and the new fleet of state of the art golf buggies with a range finder facility to show distances around the greens, ensures that golfers enjoy every moment of their golf - even the frustrating ones! The all-weather buggy paths keep the course open more than most, and ensure that buggies can be used whenever the course is open. ΓÇï Mytton Fold Golf Club - your first choice for golf membership with competitively priced fees; Golf Days for Clubs and Societies and of course simply for getting together with friends and colleagues for a stimulating and relaxing game of golf.
