Frank Hargreaves, the inspiration behind the Golf Club, was the farmer who worked these fields with his livestock for years before tragedy struck and his herd destroyed. His wife Lilian started the bed and breakfast business from the farmhouse and together they developed Mytton Fold Hotel from the derelict farm buildings. The hotel grew year by year, earning a renowned reputation for offering great hospitality.
