VAT

When your business turnover exceeds the VAT threshold (see the Tax Rates and Allowances section for details of the current threshold) we can deal with the VAT registration of your business for you, or advise you how to register the business yourself. There are different VAT schemes available and it is very important to select the correct one for your business (eg. Cash Accounting, Flat Rate, etc).  Please see VAT notes on the Downloads page of our wesbite for further information about the schemes, or contact us for advice. When your business is VAT registered you will need to complete and submit VAT returns to H M Revenue and Customs at regular periods (usually quartlerly). If we are already dealing with your bookkeeping then we will also be happy to deal with completion and submission of the VAT returns. If you are happy carrying out your own bookkeeping work then we can either use your records to complete and submit the VAT returns for you, or you can complete the VAT returns yourself and ask us to review them before they are submitted.
