Testimonials
Sofa Restoration
Had two sofa seat pads re-stuffed on a ten year old suite. A lovely job alround has made it like new. Well worth the money! Would definitely recommend this company.
Leather Furniture Repair
Excellent repair on our old leather sofa and pouffes. Suite had split in fabric under seats which was replaced. Seats were replaced with new leather and stained to match. Pouffe was recoloured to match suite. We hope to get another 20+ years use out of them too!
Riser/Recliner Chair Repairs
Very professional service provided by Andrew Marks Furniture Services. On the day, Andy arrived on time and quickly and efficiently made the required repairs to the riser/recliner chair. We are really pleased that the chair is now working once again, and even better than it did before!
FAQs
Do you come to my home to do the repair?
Yes — we’re a mobile, on-site service. Most work is completed in your home in one visit, across Devon & Cornwall.
Which areas do you cover?
Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay, St Austell, Truro, Newquay, Exmouth, Barnstaple, Falmouth, Bideford, Sidmouth — and surrounding areas in Devon & Cornwall
Can you fix electric and manual recliners?
Yes. We repair electric and manual recliners (including rise & recline). We carry common parts and aim for a first-visit fix. We’re Approved Technicians for G Plan & Parker Knoll and regularly work on Celebrity, Sherborne, Stressless, HSL and more.
How do I get a price?
Send photos/video + postcode via Webform, WhatsApp or or email at info@plymouthfurniturerepair.co.uk. We’ll triage and give a clear “up to” price band; if parts are needed, we’ll agree them first before proceeding.
What’s the difference between fixed and loose seat cushions for refills?
Loose (zip-off) cushions are quickest and usually done in one visit. Fixed/integral cushions may need de-stapling and re-assembly (allow extra time), but we can often complete these on the first visit too. Photos with a tape measure help us size and set firmness.
Do you repair springs, webbing and frames?
Yes — we replace webbing, re-tie/replace springs, and repair or reinforce frames to restore support and comfort.
Can you restore colour or scuffs on leather?
Yes. We clean, recolour and refinish leather to blend scuffs and fade. Deep cracks/tears may need a panel repair. We’ll recommend the most cost-effective option based on leather type and damage.
Are you Trading Standards Approved?
Yes — we’re Trading Standards Approved (Buy With Confidence) and a family-run business.
Do mobility furniture repairs qualify for 0% VAT?
Some mobility furniture work may qualify for 0% VAT. Ask us — we’ll advise what applies in your case.
What’s included in a recliner repair visit?
A thorough check and free service with recliner repairs; parts (e.g., actuators, handsets, cables) are priced separately when needed.
How long do repairs last and do you guarantee your work?
Repairs are built to last. We include a 12-month guarantee on workmanship and electrical parts, plus care advice at the appointment to extend the life of your furniture.
How do I book?
Message us with photos and postcode, or call/WhatsApp 07774 760359. We’ll confirm your up to-price and book a convenient visit.
Do you offer mobile leather sofa repair in Plymouth, Exeter, Truro and across Devon & Cornwall?
Yes. We carry out mobile leather sofa repairs across Plymouth, Exeter, Truro and the wider Devon & Cornwall area. Typical work includes scuff and colour restoration, stain removal, and panel repairs, completed on-site in one visit wherever possible. Send photos on WhatsApp for a quick "up to" price.
Do you work on restaurants, hotels, offices and care homes?
Yes — booths/banquettes, reception and office seating, hotel/holiday-let furniture, and care-home recliners. We complete most work on site with minimal disruption.
Can you provide RAMS and compliance documents?
Yes — RAMS available on request. We will use FR-rated foams/fabrics and follow hygiene-safe working practices.
Do you handle multi-site operators or batch work?
Yes — we can group visits by area and set preventative tune-ups for recurring issues (loose frames, dropped cushions, recliner cables/actuators).
Can you repair holiday-let furniture between guest changeovers in Devon & Cornwall?
Yes. We support holiday lets and serviced accommodation across Newquay, Falmouth, St Ives, Plymouth, Exeter and beyond. We can batch visits by area, prioritise fast on-site fixes (foam refills, frame/spring repairs, recliner cables/actuators, leather/vinyl touch-ups), and help with preventative maintenance so issues are resolved between changeovers rather than after a bad review.
Do you provide independent furniture reports?
Yes — we produce independent reports for insurers, retailers and warranty disputes.
What’s included in a report and who accepts it?
Diagnosis, photos, likely cause, repairability and cost guidance. Reports are used by insurers, retailers and warranty providers to progress claims.
How do I request a report?
Send details and photos via our contact form or call us. We’ll confirm scope, fee and timescale, then deliver the report electronically.
