The Hemmel Cafe is set in the beautiful North Pennines it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and one of the last places to possibly catch a glimpse of the red squirrel. It is an excellent location for Tourists, Walkers, Cyclists & weather permitting Skiers. At the Hemmel Cafe we pride ourselves on serving good quality home-made food. Since taking over in March 2012 we have gained a 5 star food hygiene rating so you can eat with us in the knowledge that your food is prepared to a safe and high standard. Our menu is very seasonal so in the summer you may find spicy seared prawn salad on the menu in the winter a hearty soup or stew. We are already making a name for ourselves for the quality of food including some of our home-made desserts which already have a reputation far and wide. We have a range of good quality hot drinks including a selection of tea's, hot chocolate but coffee is a passion of ours we use Caffe Ginevra coffee, a specially selected Italian blend
