Hello! I'm Amie, a documentary wedding photographer based in Leicester.
I take pictures of couples who are looking for more than just to be told how to pose on their big day. In fact, my couples don't want to pose on their big day!
Instead, they want to enjoy their wedding day with their chosen friends and family, but want to spare just a little bit of time to get some romantic photos, of them looking their best and authentic selves.
As my full day wedding package comes with a free engagement shoot, they met me in person at consultation and sometimes come with me to look for the best photo spots at their venue, they know me pretty well by the time the BIG DAY arrives; I've been told it was like having a new friend at our wedding. Or, in my opinion, maybe the weird cousin that you don't talk to all that much!
A 'documentary photographer' means they are simply there in the background, capturing the day as it unfolds naturally. This will happen for the entirety of the day apart from:
- The Confetti Shoot; much cattle herding needed to get a bunch of people into two lines - believe me!
- The Group Shots; I will use a list provided by you that we work through at your consultation - no-one will be missed out!
- The Couple Session; about 20-25 mins or so, making natural portraits of you both looking fabulous - no Chandler Bing smiles needed and you'll already be a pro from your Engagement Shoot!
As mentioned above, I currently live in Leicester; Wigston to be precise. But I do love to travel to shoot weddings as I love seeing new venues and new places!
I am usually to be found working within Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Birmingham, alongside Leicestershire, but my wedding prices already include travel within the entire Midlands area, and for anything outside of this area I charge a small free just to cover the petrol costs.
