Preliminary Ecological Appraisals

08/06/2020

Preliminary ecological appraisals (PEAs) are usually the first stage of a site assessment and provide an evaluation of the base line conditions of the site and any habitats associated with the site - including its botanical interest and potential habitats. The main aim of the assessment is a preliminary investigation into whether any further surveys and possible mitigation measures are required. The Preliminary Ecological Appraisal report provides further recommendations such as further detailed surveys or surveys required to support an Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA).
