Stunning panoramic views from Bluefolds Highland Holiday cottages in rural Glenlivet, Speyside. Ideal self catering cottages for exploring the Highlands of Scotland, Moray Firth and the Cairngorms National Park.There is a choice of 4 cottages; 3 in a converted steading building and 1 a small farmhouse. They are surrounded by a fenced garden, on a hillside with views across Glenlivet to the mountains in the Cairngorms National Park. The cottages sleep from 2-8 depending on your choice.Speyside is an area famed for its Malt Whisky. It seems there is a Whisky Distillery around every bend, in the road, starting with the Glenlivet, a short distance from the cottages which is part of the Malt Whisky Trail. There is excellent walking and cycling on the Glenlivet Estate and in the Cairngorms National Park as well as the stunning walk to the summit of Ben Rinnes our local Corbett which can be walked to from behind the cottages.We are about an hours drive from the beautiful empty beaches at Findhorn, Roseisle and Lossiemouth and a little further from the rocky shores of Spey Bay where there are opportunities to see dolphin, seals, ospreys and many seabirds. Further along the coast there are delightful fishing harbours and villages at Crovie and Pennan as well as the RSPB reserve at Troup Head where Gannets are to be seen from February to October each year.There are also many castle to visit in the local area. Ballindalloch castle has been occupied for 500 years and has beautiful gardens as well as a fascinating history. There is also a chance to see Llamas and walk by the river Spey. There is the ruined Balvenie Castle in Dufftown, close to the Glenfiddich distillery; the ruined Drumin and Blairfindy Castles in Glenlivet and further afield Balmoral, Crathes, Fraser, Drum and Fyvie castles.The Glenlivet area has mountains, rivers, quiet roads and a wide choice of activities.
