PASSING JUDGMENT - WHAT HAPPENS TO CHILDREN AFTER FINAL ORDERS HAVE BEEN MADE?

01/01/1970

What happens to children when they can’t go home? This one-day event for professionals will consider the inherent challenges of planning for permanency and what we know about outcomes for children placed away from their parents. The course is targeted at professionals whose role sees them considering care plans for children and involved in the decision-making process for children and also those supporting children once final decisions have been made. We envisage this event being of value to childcare professionals including solicitors, barristers, social work practitioners and those working as experts within the Family Courts. The morning session will be research-based considering recent evidence from research into outcomes for children in adoptive placements and also the experiences of kinship carers and the children placed with them. The afternoon session will focus upon the psychological difficulties which children may face upon becoming ‘looked after’ and what can be done to ameliorate these difficulties. Our event is taking place on 28th April 2014 in London. Please visit http://www.carterbrownexperts.co.uk/events/children-adoption-orders-made for more info.
