  Susan Scott is an established registered homoeopath located in Battle, East Sussex.  She has an understanding, caring and practical approach, viewing each person and their health problem as unique and individual.Susan believes that it is essential for a person to be comfortable with their choice of practitioner and encourages potential clients to have an informal discussion before booking an appointment.  She is always happy to provide information about homoeopathy and potential treatment without obligation.Some general information about homoeopathy and the consultation process is given below and more detailed information is available from Susan's website    Homœopathy is a safe, effective system of medicine which treats the whole person and promotes the body's natural ability to heal and is based on the principle "similia similibus curentur" or "let like be cured by like".  It is safe and suitable for use by people of all ages, including babies and young children, and may be used during pregnancy.The first stage in homoeopathic treatment is a consultation.  This involves a thorough case-taking process during which the homoeopath ascertains information about the individual's current state of health, their health history, illnesses that have occurred within the family, significant life events (including accidents, bereavement, etc) and personal characteristics. The in-depth nature of the consultation process means that the initial consultation will take between 1½-1¾ hours.  Subsequent appointments will take between ¾-1 hour. The consultations are carried out in a safe, caring, non-judgemental environment and all information is treated as strictly confidential. At the end of the consultation the case is reviewed and the appropriate homoeopathic remedy and dosage is determined.Follow-up consultations will be required at regular intervals to assess progress and determine the next stage of treatment.  The number of consultations required will depend on the individual and the symptoms being treated.  The frequency of appointments is usually 4-6 weeks and is agreed in consultation with the client.Susan is recognised by Simply Health (formerly the HSA) and therefore her homoeopathic clients are able to claim towards the cost of their treatment (subject to the terms and conditions of their Simply Health/HSA policy).
